About the Event

As part of the Wikipedia@25 celebrations, this online training session introduces contributors—particularly those active on Wikidata—to Wikipedia article editing.

The session aims to support participants in transitioning from structured data contributions to improving encyclopedia content.

Participants will learn:

  • Wikipedia editing basics
  • Notability and reliable sourcing
  • Article improvement techniques

A hands-on editing session will focus on improving selected UK-related articles, particularly topics connected to diaspora communities and underrepresented histories.

Objectives

  • Strengthen the contributor pipeline for UK-related content
  • Improve selected UK-related articles collaboratively
