How to link your account to an email address

To link your email address to your Wikimedia account, log into your Wikipedia account. From your preferences, go to the section entitled User profile, and scroll down to Email options.

Add your email address and check the box next to Enable email from other users.

How do I register for WikiCon Canberra?

Please follow these steps:

1. Log in to Meta-Wiki (this website) with your Wikimedia username. If you don’t yet have one, you can create it here.
2. Link your Wikimedia account to an email address so you can easily receive notifications. If you prefer not to, please write to contactwikimediaorgau to let us know how to contact you.
3. Once logged in, register for the event using the Event Registration Tool at the top of this page. Click the blue button labeled "Register for event". You may register either publicly or privately.

When will I know about travel fund assistance?

In-person versus online

I have registered for the event but it is not clear to me if there is availability to attend in-person. Booking my flights/accommodation earlier is cheaper, so it would be good to know as soon as possible if I can attend, or if the event is full. Great that you have registered! You should have received a confirmation email with a Zoom link when you registered. If you don't get anything, I can message you on-wiki if you have your email account linked to your wiki account. Or flick us an email via staff@wikimedia.org.au and we'll send it to you.

The event is set up as a hybrid one, but the wiki event registration tool doesn't currently allow us to differentiate between the two very clearly. Sorry about that!
