Feminist Voices
[edit]The symposium FEMINIST VOICES aims to foster networking among women artists, cultural practitioners, and Wikipedians in the D-A-CH region. With a focus on art and culture, and considering the underrepresentation of women in society, media, and culture, the symposium seeks to further explore the topic of gender equality.
The exhibition OUR VOICES at the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum in Ludwigshafen am Rhein traces women artists who were part of the German Artists’ Association. In this context, experts connect on the visibility of women and their achievements, contributing to the establishment of the edit-a-thon as a transdisciplinary and intersectional tool.
Curator Dr. Almut Hüfler will lead a conversation with two exhibiting artists on the theme of the voice. Featured are FATart Fair, the first Swiss art fair for women | FLINTA*, as well as Galerie Glaab, a Swiss gallery exclusively dealing in art by women. The program is complemented by insights into media research from the EqualVoice initiative, as well as the FEMNETZ network, an edit-a-thon movement promoting equality in art, culture, and public life through collaborative knowledge transfer.
The symposium takes place as a follow-up to the event FEMINISTISCHE PLAKATE in Bern, which, on the occasion of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, addressed and analyzed the representation of women in society, media, and culture through transdisciplinary exchange.
OUR VOICES features works by: Mary Bauermeister, Daniela Comani, CRIPTO SIRENAS, Madeleine Dietz, Tatjana Doll, Margret Eicher, Eva & Adele, Hannah Höch, Annot Jacobi, Magdalena Kallenberger, Alicja Kwade, Almut Linde, Christiane Löhr, Jule Tabea Martin, MATERNAL FANTASIES, Maina-Miriam Munsky, Emy Roeder, Anike Joyce Sadiq, Niki de Saint Phalle, Karin Sander, Aen Sauerborn, Bettina Semmer, Zuzanna Skiba, and Annegret Soltau.
