Forma parte de una necrópolis integrada por cuatro túmulos. El monumento conserva los ortostatos de su lado norte, restos de un corredor corto, entre ellos una losa de cobertura y parte del túmulo. Fue cuidadosamente excavado por Antón Rodríguez Casal, profesor de prehistoria de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, entre l977 y 1984, que obtuvo excelentes resultados, al descubrir en la periferia del túmulo cuatro estelas antropomórficas y algunos betilos (pequeños cantos rodados, interpretados como ídolos) y un ajuar muy valioso integrado por fragmentos de cerámica campaniforme, láminas de sílex, una punta de flecha, una azuela y una gubia.
