Description
Français : Julien BALDE est né le 26 août 1895 à Croix (Nord) et est décédé à l'âge de 74 ans en 1969. Il exerçait la profession de tailleur-presseur dans une manufacture de vêtements. Durant la Grande Guerre, il a été blessé trois fois : une première fois au pied droit en Alsace, une deuxième fois par balle au thorax et par gelures aux pieds à Monastir en Orient, une troisième fois au pied droit dans le Nord près de Bailleul. Il a été cité à l'ordre du Régiment n° 57 en date du 23 octobre 1915 et de l'Armée n° 137 le 10 avril 1917. Il a reçu la croix de guerre avec palme et une étoile de bronze et la médaille militaire. En 1962, il est nommé chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur (cf. la Base LEONORE des Archives nationales présentant son dossier de la Légion d'Honneur). Julien BALDE était le grand-oncle maternel de la contributrice.
