Deutsch: Das Schleifen der Messerklingen auf dem Schleifbock war eine anstrengende und gefährliche Arbeit. Die Klinge wird mit der Hand und einem Holzstab gehalten und an den Schleifstein gedrückt. Der Schleifstein erreichte eine Umfangsgeschwindigkeit von ca. 25 m/sec und konnte jederzeit zerspringen. (am Schleifbock: Josef Riegltaler)
English: Grinding of knife blades was stressful and dangerous. The blade was pressed by means of a wooden stick and by hand against the grindstone. This stone has had a circumferencial speed of 25 m/sec and could burst at any time. (forger Josef Riegltaler at work in grinding workshop of forge "zum König", Trattenbach, Upper Austria)
