Description
English: In a dimly lit interior a smiling elderly man, seated on a ladder-back chair, amuses an infant with a toy soldier. The child is seated in a "kakstoel," or training chair. On a rush-covered street at the right is a piece of knitting. This rustic interior is characteristic of the artist's depictions of peasant life in the eighties and nineties.
