Description
English: This panel was very likely originally part of a large altarpiece, with a role similar to that of the groupings of three apostels now in Naples at the Museo e Gallerie Nazaionali di Capodimonte, from an altarpiece formerly in the church of St. Agostino alla Zecca. For more on the artist and this altarpiece, see Riccardo Naldi, "Marco Cardisco, Giorgio Vasari: pittura, umanesimo religioso, immagini di culto" (Naples 2009).
