| Description |
English: Merging of Milky Way-like galaxy with satellite. Example of dynamical friction (or Chandrasekhar friction) in astrophysics, loss of momentum and kinetic energy of moving bodies through gravitational interactions with surrounding matter in space. This effect moves the satellite towards the disk and then into the center of the host galaxy.
Українська: Злиття галактики, подібної до Чумацького шляху, з її сателітом. Приклад динамічного тертя, або тертя Чандрасекара, в астрофізиці, втрата імпульсу та кінетичної енергії тіл, що рухаються, через гравітаційну взаємодію з оточуючою матерією в космосі. Цей ефект рухає сателіт до диска, а тоді в центр основної галактики. |
