Summary

Description
English: the photo is from an album that belonged to nurse Anna Elisabeth ”Anna-Lisa” Modéer (1891–1961). The image shows Modéer and a patient rolling gauze bandages. The bandages were not disposable, but were washed, sterilised and reused. It was usual for patients to assist with simple tasks. Probably because it was useful and seen as beneficial for the patients wellbeing to have a task when sufficiently recovered.
