English: A supernova in a galaxy NGC 6946 "Fireworks" (marked by dashes). Its brightness on the peak was comparable with the total brightness of the whole galaxy. This is the tenth supernova in this galaxy observed during the last 100 years. Insets: evolution of a visible color of the supernova: from bluish at early stages to reddish at later stage. Other stars in the image belong to our Milky Way galaxy.
Українська: Наднова у галактиці NGC 6946 "Фейєрверк" (відмічена рисками). Яскравість наднової (результату гравітаційного колапсу масивної зірки, що витратила термоядерне паливо) на піку яскравості порівняна з яскравістю всієї галактики. Це десята наднова в цій галактиці за 100 років спостережень. Врізки: зміна видимого кольору наднової: з блакитного відтінку на початку до червонуватого на кінцевих стадіях. Інші зірки на зображенні належать до нашої Галактики -- Чумацького Шляху. Фотографія отримана за допомогою телескопа-рефлектора діаметром 150мм f/5 на екваторіальному монтуванні з трекінгом і цифрової дзеркальної камери. Київ. The picture was taken using SkyWatcher 150/750 Newtonian on EQ5 mount with motor drives with Canon EOS600D as an imaging camera.
