The graphic is not bad, but I have a feeing that it is related to pot. I still like the original one better.

Not bad. I'd like to see some more variations though... not quite perfect as it is. Can you put something else besides arrows? mix it up a bit.
IMHO, this has the most finished/professional look of all logos currently. Could this be combined with the unfinished sphere idea of #4? Perhaps the unfinished part should be in the same area where the arrows are missing. Also, I think the "Wikipedia" text should be slightly darker. --Eloquence 02:01 23 Jul 2003 (UTC)
This is very good ! Just one thing bothering me on the first particularly...how are we gonna adapt this to the different languages easily if the name is distorted ? Ant

- esperanto is Vikipedio (since there is no W in the alphabet), french is Wikipédia (and yes, written without the accent, it sounds ridiculous, that won't make it)
- Ok, I can provide alternate versions with those changes, no problem, should that version be chosen. But just for my curiosity, Wikipedia is a name, not a common noun, right? How come you can use fr.wikipedia.org and eo.wikipedia.org instead of fr.wikipédia.org and eo.wikipedio.org and not be bothered with that? How come you have a logo clearly reading "WIKIPEDIA" on your very French wikipedia homepage? Do they say Motorolo and SONO in Esperanto instead of Motorola and SONY? Unfortunately I can't think of an example similar to Wikipedia (accent on e in the middle of the name) for a foreign company name - if there is any, do their Paris headquarters advertise a twisted name of their own for the French?
- Given that Esperanto nouns, proper and common, must end in "o" (a particularly odd rule considering the proper nouns are also marked with a capital letter) it would not surprise me if Motorolo and Sono were their true names in that language. This is why we have Ido, which corrects most of the missteps Esperanto took during its creation.

- I find it silly that we have these name variations, but we do have them. We should try to accommodate them in logo design. I'm sure for a designer with your skills that would be no problem. --Eloquence 20:22 23 Jul 2003 (UTC)
I like it a lot. Perhaps "Wikipedia" lettering could be just black colour. There is a good suggestion to convey some more meaning. Now we know Wikipedia is a collaborative project but we should also see easily that this is an international project, and that we are creating an encyclopedia (alternatively codyfing human knowledge. Thank you.

Focus on the logo-allow for different international text -- I dislike the wrapped text -- rather hasty compared to the design -- whats the meaning of the the arrows? what symbols are you trying to convey that arent working? -Stevertigo 20:39 31 Jul 2003 (UTC)

By far this is the best one!
By far this has the most arrows i've seen in a logo!! - yikes! arrows that are attacking the poor green ball...also kind of looks like sperms trying to score.
