Here we have an ant (representing community) connecting with the universal symbol for power.

The word WIKIPEDIA can of course be translated for the various foreign languages. The font used is Continuum Bold. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pacific1982 (talk) 18:37, 11 August 2003 (UTC)[reply]

The yellow is much too bright. I think I will upload my own version of this. ミハエル (MB) 04:22, 12 Aug 2003 (UTC)

Hmmm, I think it does look better without the yellow. The only reason I used it was that I read somewhere on this site that yellow was a friendly color. —Pacific1982 —Preceding undated comment added 04:59, 12 August 2003 (UTC).[reply]

Yellow is friendly? Isn't it the international traffic sign colour (i.e., beware, warning, watch-out)? --Menchi 22:08, 25 Aug 2003 (UTC)
Someone mentioned that yellow represents community...that was what I was suggesting by my use of it. —Pacific1982 15:14, 26 Aug 2003 (PDT)

I suggest that if you are serious about this design, that you try to make a bunch of variation in color to show what it would look like with various different color schemes. マイカル 17:23, 18 Aug 2003 (UTC)

So the O with | thru it represents ... "power"? --Menchi 01:10, 27 Aug 2003 (UTC)

If you look at many modern electronic devices, the "on" switch or power button has that symbol on or next to it. My computer and two printers both have it, and they are all made by different manufacturers. My TV set has it as well, and it is by a fourth manufacturer. I'm pretty sure this symbol is now considered to be universal. —Pacific1982 10:21, 26 Aug 2003 (PDT)
