This is a (terrible crude) version of my idea.

At the moment I don't have access to any proper drawing programs and cant make a clean version.

Consept:

  • The circle correspondes with unity and the 'globe-symbol'
  • Includes the letterforms 'W' and 'i' for 'Wikipedia'
  • Includes the 'international' symbol for information
  • Color is bluish green, a relaxing and confident color.
  • I think it looks a bit like the peace symbol too.
  • And if you look carefully, I think I see a human a bit like an upright version of this: o>-<

Yes, I've been inspired by contibution #24, but I believe the shape is so different that I'll get away with it.

Well, to to inspire someone else is rather fulfilling! Thanks! Neolux 09:17 2 Aug 2003 (UTC)
No worries! Gorm

Anyone care to make a clean version?

How about this ?

Well, I had a few details in mind that you have missed, but I guess I didnt explain:
  • The dot over the 'i' should be a part of the circle, as if cut out, i.e. curved top (and bottom too, maybe?).
  • The logo was all in one color with no border, and gradients doesnt print all that well all the time...
Thanks for the effort! Gorm 14:19 2 Aug 2003 (UTC)

Horrible crap...

You (who ever you are) think so? Yes of course the current version is horribly crude/coarse. Was it that you meant or something else? Gorm 05:42 4 Aug 2003 (UTC)
There appears to be a person who is going around to comments pages of logos and saying such things without any explanation or signature. I would suggest ignoring it. Paullusmagnus 12:57 4 Aug 2003 (UTC)

reminds me of microsoft urban assault

I confess at first glance I thought it was a Klingon spaceship :-|) Crusadeonilliteracy

It looks a bit robot-like. The dot-square is the head, and thw W-'s two \../ are the arms. But it somehow inspires me the concept of cooperation. Arms linking. --Menchi 08:36, 23 Aug 2003 (UTC)

I immediatly thought of a steering wheel (?) for an airplane. Connotation: Navagating through the world (->circle/sphere) of knowledge ("i"nformation) with "Wi"kipedia. I like the concept. TowerDragon
