Alignment with the Wikimedia Movement Strategy 2030

Summary
As a specialised user group operating with an agile and collaborative culture, foto.wiki.br is uniquely positioned to make critical contributions to the Wikimedia movement, with its decisions guided by data. Our specialisation and agile nature are the core of our strategy to complement the vital work of Wikimedia Brasil (WMB) and strengthen the Wikimedia ecosystem in Brazil. We envision a future where foto.wiki.br is consolidated as a centre of excellence in free audiovisual content.
The Audiovisual Knowledge Gap in the Wikimedia Ecosystem
An in-depth analysis generated by foto.wiki.br volunteers revealed that, of the 124,881 Brazilian species on Wikidata, the media gap is profound: only 15.15% have a photograph, a mere 0.04% have a video, and a negligible number have audio files (9) or 3D models (4).
The gap extends to the reader's experience: on the Portuguese Wikipedia, 40.73% of articles on Brazilian species have no photo. On the English Wikipedia, this number rises to 57.98%.
"When words meet images, learning soars to new heights, opening up to more people. Visual language inspires, building bridges where words alone cannot reach. This is where foto.wiki.br comes in."

Conclusion
With its data-driven decisions, agile governance, and its own brand, foto.wiki.br presents itself as a strategic organisation within the Wikimedia movement in Brazil. Our work complements that of WMB, contributing to a more diverse and efficient movement. The independence of foto.wiki.br is not a fragmentation, but a necessary specialisation that strengthens the Movement in its entirety.
