Tours in Tel Aviv[edit]

The tours will take place on Saturday, 3rd November between 17:30 - 20:00 There is a limit to the number of attendees. If you will not register in time you will not be able to be on the tours, please register (for one tour only):

following the tours the attendees will have a free time to eat (and return to the hotel in public transportation - there will be no shuttles). Note that the meetups are at the hotel at 21:00.

Description of the Tours:[edit]

Independence Tour[edit]

The tour will showcase the locations of main events in the history of the state of Israel. The tour will pass along Rothschild Boulevard - the White City of Tel Aviv the center of the (UNESCO) World Cultural Heritage site.

The White City of Tel Aviv[edit]

A short tour to the White City of Tel Aviv a collection of over 4,000 buildings built in a unique form of the Bauhaus or International Style from the 1930s by German Jewish architects who immigrated to the British Mandate of Palestine after the rise of the Nazis. Tel Aviv has the largest number of buildings in the Bauhaus/International Style of any city in the world. In 2003, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) proclaimed Tel Aviv's White City a World Cultural Heritage site, as "an outstanding example of new town planning and architecture in the early 20th century." The tour will pass along Rothschild Boulevard - one of the principal streets in the center of Tel Aviv. We will walk from the Habima Theatre. It is one of the most expensive streets in the city, being one of the city's main tourist attractions.
