GLAM - your experience and tips

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Hello everyone

Because there is no GLAM lecture/workshop on the official programme, I would like to arrange a Meetup for all of you who are interested in it.
This is my motivation: We want to start with GLAM activities in Czech Rep (in sense of content donations, running joint projects etc., placing wikimedians in residence etc.) and I would like to hear your own experience and opinions or even answers to these questions:

1. How to address institutions (randomly, systematically, officially by chapter or unofficially just by volunteers etc., only via personal contacts?)?
2. How to persuade institutions to join wiki-event/project or to donate their content on Commons? What are the best arguments?
3. How and where to find stable volunteers (across the whole country, even in small towns) who could address GLAM institutions on their own?
4. How to explain to institutions they should pay their own wikimedian in residence?
5. What software/tool do you use in case of massive content donation?
6. Whatever you are interested in...

If you consider to come, please paste your signature on the event page.

Warning!:
As you see I haven't much to offer you, but other participants surely can!-)
In Czech we have just prepared a GLAM flyer for potential collaborating institutions with arguments, we organized few editathons with other institutions, we have wikimedian in residence in Prague Zoo...

Thanks for joining!
