Our conference theme: Resilience
[edit]Shaping the Future Through Community and Openness
[edit]Resilience is the ability to adapt, recover, and emerge stronger in the face of challenges, whether they stem from natural disasters, economic downturns, social and political upheavals, or technological threats. Our movement and community have consistently encountered these hurdles, but more importantly, we have learned to navigate and overcome them. It’s time to celebrate our achievements, enhance our skills and capacities, and unite our efforts to create the future we envision. Resilience in its many forms is the theme of the GLAM Wiki 2025 conference.
Community resilience thrives on collaboration and connection. We emphasize open dialogue, relationship-building, and learning from one another, all while working towards shared goals and a strategic vision. Beyond our immediate movement, we advocate for the issues that resonate with us, embracing diverse and inclusive perspectives along the way.
Digital resilience focuses on improving tools and fostering continuous innovation. Our priorities include documentation, preservation, digitization, and stewardship, all bolstered by the principles of open access and a healthy technology infrastructure. For more than a decade, the Wikimedia universe has been a partner of the GLAM community in this realm, and we hope to continue to do so.
