As part of the official conference program, participants will have the opportunity to explore Lisbon’s rich cultural landscape through guided visits to museums, archives, libraries, artist studios, and heritage sites.
Whether before, during, or after the conference, these tours offer a chance to connect with local culture, history, and art—and they’re free for registered conference participants (pre-registration required).

Cemitério dos Prazeres (Cemetery of Prazeres)

Created in 1833, Prazeres Cemetery is one of Lisbon’s most striking heritage sites, home to some of Portugal’s most important mausoleums, including the Palmela Mausoleum — the largest private mausoleum in Europe. The tour explores funerary monuments, symbolic art, and architecture, while also highlighting the resting places of notable figures from the 19th and 20th centuries. Strangeness first, followed by curiosity, were the ingredients of the intercultural dialogue between East and West, reflected in the art of both hemispheres.
