The Ghanaian Languages Wikimedia Community Meetup 2023 is the maiden edition of a mini-conference designed to bring together Wikimedians working on indigenous language Wikipedias in Ghana.
The goal of the conference is to unite Ghanaians contributing to local languages, giving them a sense of belonging and boosting their confidence in digitizing their languages to prevent extinction. It also aimed to help close the digital divide that keeps people disconnected from the internet due to language barriers, as these communities often face similar challenges.
