Introduction
[edit]The Graduation Day – Road to Wiki Cohort 1 is a special gathering to conclude the achievements of the first cohort of contributors who have actively engaged in open-source projects and Wikipedia contributions. This event will serve as a platform to recognize efforts, share learnings, and inspire future contributions to the open-source ecosystem
Road to Wiki Tech is a unique opportunity that combines learning, hands-on experience, and mentorship to provide students with a comprehensive approach to technology and open-source contributions. This program is designed to empower students with the skills to contribute effectively to the Wikimedia Ecosystem.
Task and program design
[edit]The Road to Wiki Cohort 1 mentorship program was a structured initiative to introduce students to Wikimedia's technical ecosystem. Participants collaborated in groups, completed mentorship tasks, and successfully contributed to Phabricator tasks. Learn more about Task
Key Contributions
[edit]Enhancing User Experience in MediaWiki
- Improved visibility of the keyboard selector in the UI.
- Technologies used: JavaScript, jQuery, DOM manipulation.

Migrating Test Cases to JSON for Better Compatibility
- Shifted test cases from JavaScript and PHP files to common data files.
- Unified PHP and JS test cases for better cross-language testing.

Bug Fixes and Feature Enhancements
- Students tackled real Phabricator bugs and enhanced MediaWiki localization and UI components.
