What is the reason for the survey?
Inclusivity is at the root of the development of processes, practices, and structures for the Wikimedia Movement to grow rich in the diversity of perspectives and identities. To realize this goal, we will survey grantees individuals and affiliates about if and how they address diversity and inclusion in their programs and also ask about the demographics of our current grantee pool. their diversity, inclusion planning and demographics.
After the one-time baseline survey, our plan will be to include this as a practice within the application process for grants.
What are the Survey Goals?
All of us are on a long term journey to improve diversity and inclusion practices. We plan to begin a conversation in partnership with organizations about their current ideas and practices and open the conversation around additional resources needed for all of us to improve.
The goal of the survey is to establish a baseline understanding of :
- How diversity and Inclusion is being address in programs of grantees
- The demographics of our current grantees with a diversity and inclusion lens
- How affiliates are currently addressing diversity and inclusion in their organizations.
How will the information be used?
The data collected in the survey will be anonymized and information will be shared publicly with an analysis of the data. This report will be used as a starting point for conversations about how Diversity and Inclusivity are being addressed right now by our grantees and how we can continue to ensure that our commitments and practices to equity are globally inclusive.
Will the information I provide impact my grant application?
