Please prepare a brief project update each month, in a format of your choice, to share progress and learnings with the community along the way. Submit the link below as you complete each update.
We spent considerable amounts of time getting the grant set up. Discussing ways to improve the tool, and figuring out the best way to proceed.
This was somewhat of a quiet month as members of our team were on vacation, and the others couldn't start work on the project yet (wrapping up other commitments)
A frenzy of activity has commenced! We're planning meetups, refactoring our tools codebase, putting together documentation, and making it all happen! One of our crew attended the NYC Wiki meetup, and the other has reached out to several members of the community to figure out physical spaces for 3 meetups, one in October, November, and December
We've been attending meetups and working on our software!
We held our first official event at Babycastles in NYC, and have worked with Wikimedia NYC to increase our exposure. We've also rewritten a large part of the tool and now it's working much more intuitively.
We asked for an extension and finally updated our financials. We'll be commencing out reach and further development after the holidays.
New end date
March 1, 2017
We'd like more time to reach out to the disability community, hold 2 more events with Wikimedia NYC, and further develop our Alt Text Tools software.
