Audience[edit]

Who are the people you want to introduce Wikipedia to?[edit]

Millennials.

In what languages do they search for information, online or otherwise?[edit]

English, Phonetic language of their mother tongue.

In what ways does this group communicate with each other?[edit]

Facebook & Whatsapp

What are some reasons this group would use Wikipedia? How would they benefit from it, or what would they find useful?[edit]

A Millennial wants to learn, dream, acknowledge things, do some different, shortly, they wants to do something. To do so they need Knowledge. And the only platform where one gets vast amount of knowledge about any topic is, Wikipedia.

And for any typical millennial, Wikipedia is boring, as it's without interesting pictures, their favorite characters or role models, videos & entertainment.Simply it's a digital version of any thick book which they hate. They need information but some entertainment too.

Project idea[edit]

What language Wikipedia projects will you promote to new readers?[edit]

Marathi, Hindi, English

How will you communicate with new readers? Will you be communicating with them online, in-person, or both?[edit]

Personally meeting can assure, believe , clear doubts, make think people.

Describe your idea to engage new readers. How might it be implemented? What will you tell people about Wikipedia?[edit]

Advertise. That's how people are attracted to you. Making people think about their knowledge. Once they find they're short of information & create desire to get it, they will search 'Wikipedia' first. Advertising on TV is the best way I believe.

How will you know if this project is successful? What are some outcomes that you can share after the project is completed?[edit]

I have more than 10 ideas. But top 3. Firstly, Increased traffic on Wikipedia site. Secondly, increased no. of Edits. Thirdly, Page views.

Do you think you can implement this idea? What support do you need?[edit]

Yes, I can do it alone. I need financial support, advices about marketing & advertising skills and a powerful laptop & a camera.

About the idea creator[edit]

I've been using Wikipedia since 8 years. It takes a lot of time to understand a topic completely. An average (Busy/ impatient) user tends to gather quick information. Which is too difficult on Wikipedia. So they avoid using Wiki & believes any other media giving what they want BRIEFLY. Resulting in believing in false information & less awareness of Wikipedia. And Wikipedia does not advertise themselves,as it's dependent on users to do so. And those users who don't get information easily on Wikipedia, advertises false info of Wiki & ultimately, LESS AWARENESS of Wikipedia.
