Project idea[edit]

What is the problem you're trying to solve?[edit]

Prevent editors feeling wiki-stress from burning out.

What is your solution?[edit]

In my academic paper on why experienced editors retire (PM me for a copy) I suggest that WMF should hire 1+ Therapeutist/Councelor who should pro-actively identify users who create valuable content but are in danger of burning out / dropping out due to on wiki stress and conflict. Such users should be awarded stars, told nice things, engaged in conversation about their problems, maybe even invited to a chat or phone conversation. WMF has 100+ employees, it can afford one or two who would focus not on sever maintenance/bureaucracy but on making valued contributors regain their confidence. Volunteers need maintenance just like the servers and software does!
