Project idea[edit]
What is the problem you're trying to solve?[edit]
There a lot of images on commons that could be used in other projects, but languages barriers and lack of awareness prevent this.
What is your solution?[edit]
Something like global notifications tailored to personal interests regardless of language.
Goals[edit]
- inspire people to create or translate articles in/to their own language
- add images to articles in languages you don't understand
- motivate people who upload images by using images more
- make people excited to explore images in topic areas they are interessted in
- encourage people with similar interests to collaborate together on-wiki even if they don't speak the same languages
