Grants:IdeaLab/Training & other kind of events in schools & colleges
What is the problem you're trying to solve?
To bring more gender diversity in Wikimedia contributors
What is your solution?
Conduct more training events in schools & colleges through local Wikimedia chapters and volunteers. This should be done in both gender-segregated & co-ed. Also students should be made more aware about the Wikipedia app on Android and how it can be used for editing & contributing new articles, since all students have a smartphone these days.
There can be workshops/events specifically dedicated to using and contributing using the Android app. Also some kind of contests could be organized for encouraging contributors. A tie-up with schools/colleges for conducting such contests is also a good idea.
- The idea sounds interesting, but needs to specify how a shape and kind of gender diversity can be achieved that is different from the one we see in Wikimedia Projects today. If this cannot be achieved, this project draft would make more sense in the general IdeaLab section. --C.Koltzenburg (talk) 20:24, 13 March 2015 (UTC)
