Audience[edit]

Who are the people you want to introduce Wikipedia to?[edit]

Try to be as specific as possible about this group.
Farmers looking for better seeds and fertilizers, Workers seeking for their rights, School-going children looking for their emotive issues, A girl disillusioned by disadvantages it forces upon her, a small tea shop owner who wants to expand his small business, an Old man who wants to know is the food he eats is really healthy for him and the list is just endless

In what languages do they search for information, online or otherwise?[edit]

Hindi, English and all major regional languages of India

In what ways does this group communicate with each other?[edit]

This can include services and apps in social media, mailing lists, physical spaces like conferences or lectures, or at specific institutions like at a library.
Calls, SMS and mostly Facebook and WhatsApp.

What are some reasons this group would use Wikipedia? How would they benefit from it, or what would they find useful?[edit]

Think about what they would be interested in reading and learning about; does Wikipedia provide better access to information this group cares about?
Curiosity is what that makes us equal crossing those boundaries of nations and ethnicity. So where ever you go...people are curious. Wikipedia boosts their curiosity and satiates their desire to learn. But, why is wikipedia stuck with just mere intellectuals and why has facebook with allits tentacles reached the darkness of developing world? Mainly three reasons --its interactive; --its available in all forms of vernacular language ; --even if people don't access its social networking, here in India they access it for NEWS, this is where Wikipedia lags

Project idea[edit]

What language Wikipedia projects will you promote to new readers?[edit]

All major regional languages throough a team of translators; enough of Hindi and English

How will you communicate with new readers? Will you be communicating with them online, in-person, or both?[edit]

in-person is pretty impractical. In my country everyone has access to mobile phone. If they are so willing to read advertisements and promotional SMS. Then why not SMS and USSD from wikipedia for their own information

Describe your idea to engage new readers. How might it be implemented? What will you tell people about Wikipedia?[edit]

Think about the steps that might involved to make this idea happen, and what you might teach people about your experience or others' experiences using Wikipedia.
This would proceed in following stages 1st; PROMOTION of Wikipedia. Here, we would require TV, Vernacular Newspaper for people to know about Wikipedia as a BRAND of FREE and ACCESSIBLE information for all. If Wikipedia is etched into the hearts of the people as a kind of NGO helping them with their daily lives. Once, they get attached to wikipedia they would never leave it.

2nd; MAKE FREE ACCESS--People a obsessed with things which are FREE of COST so you got to provide them information free of cost. But, they are still stuck to classical means of information so Wikipedia can start with targeting sections in major newspapers of India and then promoting them to go online. They must not feel that Wikipedia is some distant portal for classy intellectuals but a brother that would help them with information.

How will you know if this project is successful? What are some outcomes that you can share after the project is completed?[edit]

If you’re not certain about how to respond to this question when starting your idea, you do not need to answer it right now. Campaign participants and Wikimedia Foundation staff can help you consider some options.
--informed citizens --informed business --social problems weeded out --happiness through information --day to day problems tackled

Do you think you can implement this idea? What support do you need?[edit]

Do you need people with specific skills or resources to complete this idea? Are there any financial needs for this project? Do you need advising from Wikimedia Foundation staff?
Yes, I feel I can arrange contacts and convince Indian Agencies to add wikipedia into their initiatives. India has a core of helping others in need so if we portray that to people even the greatest businessman would help us. But this requires a wide array of discussion cannot we all written here
