- Due to U.S. sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Wikimedia Foundation restricts sending funds to Iran. As a result, we will not use this grant inside Iran under any circumstances.
Our operational area will primarily be in Europe (Germany, the Netherlands, France, England, Sweden, Austria, Turkey, and Armenia) and Canada, and the United Arab Emirates.

Participation: Training workshops, engaging the Iranian diaspora, and diversity-focused initiatives. Community Support: Iranian WikiConference, meetups, and skill-building workshops. Partnerships: Collaborations with GLAM institutions, universities, and other Wikimedia communities. Promotion: Public outreach, social media campaigns, and awareness programs.

We actively collaborate with internal Wikimedia affiliates and external organizations to expand outreach and strengthen our initiatives. Our partnerships focus on knowledge-sharing, capacity-building, and promoting Wikimedia projects.
Internal (Wikimedia) Partnerships: Wikimedia CEE Hub – Engaging in knowledge exchange and networking opportunities within the Central and Eastern European community.
External Partnerships: We partner with Divar and Alibaba, two leading Iranian tech companies, to leverage their resources and promotional platforms inside Iran. These collaborations help us reach a wider audience, promote Wikimedia initiatives, and engage new contributors.
