We continue to collaborate and partnet with GLAM institutions like we have done in the past. We collaborate more on the base of Wikidata. Please find a Wikidata property we have implemented this month on behalf of a Flemisch archive: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P12046.

Challenges are: attracting more young and female board members, attracting more young and female project managers, finding a freelance person that can sufficiently work independently.

We will continue to distribute the message that we have interesing voluneer work for people that are open to free knowledge.

Other programs and activities if any: GLAM institutions often have female collaborators that have excellent skills in writing, but they lack the knowledge of Wikipedia editing techniques. Also we have special attention to document historical women, see our project https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikiproject/Erfgoed/Vlaanderen/Guido_Gezellearchief/Vrouwen_van_papier about the archive of Guido Gezelle, a famous 19th century Belgian poet, journalist, teacher, monastery director and priest. With other museums we perform industrial archeology, and the registry of streets and places in Wikidata.

We originally planned to have a freelance for 1 day per week, 9 months per year, worth 10.000 € but we had to drop this proposal and have replaced this by an amount of only 2.000 € to appoint an ad hoc consultant to advice us how we can build a stronger organisation with a stronger and more diverse and younger board, including women, and project managers and activity organiser volunteers.

We have documented the effective budget we received for 2024, i.e. 35000 €, in https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kmSB6kS8HGTDlWS9JADWRKzdItFayUNG. In addition to that we plan to organise external funded activities: Friends of Wikipedia Belgium projects: 3 projects 6-month projects related to using Wikimedia/Wikipedia platform for culture, heritage, cultural heritage, education, or social wellness x 7500 € = 22500 €; The French speaking Ministry of education plans to train teachers: how they can use Wikimedia/Wikipedia in the classroom: 3 two-day sessions x 1600 € ~ 5000 €. We continue to execute partnerships and projects with museums to advise them how the Wikimedia platforms can be beneficial to their collection. We continue to assist universities and higher education institutions in how students can effectively contribute to Wikipedia and related platforms (Wikimedia Commons, Wikidata).
