Wikimedia Haïti entend agir sur des problèmes structurels spécifiques à des pays du Sud comme Haïti. Lesquels problèmes constituent de véritables injustices cognitives qui nuisent à l'expansion du patrimoine culturel et intellectuel haïtien. Ainsi, nos actions se dirigent vers :

Le renforcement des compétences numériques des jeunes haïtiens contribuant à en faire de véritables acteurs et actrices de changement social.
Une meilleure accessibilité du savoir haïtien sur le web. Qu’il s’agisse de savoirs scientifiques ou de savoirs oraux et traditionnels. À ce niveau, Wikisource est un projet sur lequel nous souhaitons mettre un grand focus.
Un renforcement infrastructurel par la création d’un espace spécifique permettant de couper court à des problèmes de connexion internet, de ressources documentaires
La promotion d’une nouvelle vision de la bibliothèque comme lieu producteur, éditeur et créateur. L’idée est surtout d’influencer en Haïti la réinvention de la profession de bibliothécaire autour de la médiation numérique.

8. What are your programs, approaches, and strategies? What are the challenges that you are trying to address and how will your strategies support you in addressing these challenges? (required)

Our overall vision is to: restore narrative authority to local communities in order to encourage greater production of knowledge in Creole about the national reality; Act as a catalyst for open digital archives in order to develop preservation projects, including those related to oral traditions; transform users into critical producers of knowledge and digital ambassadors in different regions of the country; adapt digital commons to local material realities; make Wikimedia Haiti a transnational hub for Haitian knowledge, research, and advocacy.

By June 2028, we aim to have a physical space serving as a resource and training center for Haitian youth, students, and cultural actors. This space will increase the diversity, quantity, and quality of content dedicated to Haiti in the various projects of the Wikimedia movement in particular, as well as the development of free software and digital commons in general.
