1. How did your project go? Did you reach all project goals and success metrics?

The India Rapid Project titled “விக்கிப்பீடியா 25ஆம் பிறந்தநாள் திருவிழா” was successfully implemented in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu as part of the global Wikipedia 25th Anniversary celebration.

The project achieved its key objectives:

  • 26 contributors participated.
  • 6,864 total edits were recorded across Wikimedia projects.
  • 5,636 edits were made to Tamil Wikisource.
  • Multiple new user accounts were created during the event.
  • Two educational institutions collaborated in hosting and participation.

The structured hands-on training approach significantly enhanced participant engagement and measurable output. The event strengthened institutional collaboration and established a sustainable Wikimedia outreach framework in Tamil Nadu.

The originally requested budget was ₹160,000 INR. The approved grant amount was ₹116,820 INR under the India Rapid Fund (Round 3), administered through Balarc Foundation.

The host institution supported venue infrastructure (computer lab, internet connectivity, electricity backup), which reduced venue-related expenses. Adjustments were made to travel, accommodation, and operational costs to align with the approved budget.
