The change we are trying to bring is the elevation of female voices in online knowledge, specifically in the context of Northern Nigeria. We aim to create and improve women-related content on Wikipedia and its sister projects, with a focus on increasing the representation of women from Northern Nigeria.
The main challenges we are trying to solve include the underrepresentation of women on Wikipedia, particularly in the context of Northern Nigeria, as well as the lack of female editors in the Wikimedia community. By addressing these challenges, we aim to provide a platform for female voices to be heard and included in online knowledge sharing.
To achieve this, our main approach is to recruit and train new female Wikimedian editors, particularly from Northern Nigeria, to contribute to Wikipedia and its sister projects. 3. Edit-a-thons: Organize edit-a-thons focusing on creating and improving articles related to women from Northern Nigeria on Hausa Wikipedia, as well as other sister projects.
