1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

This project will focus on creating articles in Hausa Wikipedia based on the in-coming general elections in Nigeria (with specific aim in Northern Part of the country as the case may be). Thus, this project will focus on creating articles on the election candidates, ranging from Councillors, Governors, Members of the House of Assemblies, and Presidential elections result and articles related to the general Election.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

This project will employ both online and offline participation and data acquisition strategies. Editors from different part of the Hausa Communities will be assigned in creating information about the General Elections. The project will also focus on adding authentic informations on the election.

3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

This project will cater for latest and authentic information about the general elections to be held in Nigeria. The Project will therefore be achieved through the following objectives.. i. Awareness will be created (online) on how Wikipedia helps the global community on prominent people with articles about the biographies and general information of people involved which will increase Wikipedia readablility. ii. Offline workshops will also be created which will train individuals on how to contribute to the free encyclopedia iii.

Yes, we will have 3 main volunteers from the Hausa Wikimedia Community, Usman Ahmad Isa, Rukeery16 and Sanusi Gado as the principal volunteers from the three major populated cities in Northern Nigeria, Kano, Kaduna and Katsina with me (Uncle Bash007) as the overall seer and organiser.

This project will provide latest authentic information on the on-going Elections in Nigeria. It will cover information on candidates from different cultural, ethnic and religious background. Topics to be covered are essentially vital as people all over the world can find information about the elections on Wikipedia.

i. All information/articles will be created offline and will be verified before uploading on Wikipedia ii. Articles will be created based on impartial criteria iii. Information will be sourced from reliable sources and generally accepted news feeds (newspapers, magazines etc).

Information and Ideas about this project were discussed personally with other Wikimedians long before the election (primaries/general elections). This was also discussed on different groups on social media platforms among others.
