I hope to preserve the language, culture, audio, and visual heritage of the Sakizaya people of Taiwan by creating and expanding Wikimedia content.
Through this effort, we aim to address the challenges posed by an aging population and the resulting risk of language and cultural loss, ensuring that Sakizaya knowledge and heritage are permanently documented and accessible for future generations.

We plan to implement this project from September 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027. The primary activities will include organizing five in-person Sakizaya writing workshops to bring together members of the Sakizaya community and provide training on the use of Wikipedia and Wikimedia tools. Our goal is to equip participants with the skills and confidence needed to independently contribute and upload content to Wikipedia.
In addition to the workshops, we will conduct interviews, video recordings, documentation, and subtitle translation activities in collaboration with Sakizaya elders. Through these efforts, we will preserve and document the Sakizaya language, including written texts, audio recordings, valuable historical footage, and cultural knowledge. The resulting materials will be made accessible through Wikipedia and other Wikimedia platforms, ensuring the long-term preservation and transmission of Sakizaya linguistic and cultural heritage for future generations.

Sabak5388 serves as the project lead, responsible for project proposal submission, implementation, and final reporting. This role will receive a part-time personnel fee to support the effective execution and operation of the project.
The other team members, including Dawa Sabak, Sabak Tutuy, Siku288, and Kilang05 (with additional editors expected to be recruited), will receive editorial compensation to support tasks such as uploading Wikipedia articles and contributing vocabulary and audio recordings. In addition, this process also enables Wikipedia contributors within the team to gain a deeper understanding of their own cultural heritage.
