The Month of African Cinema is an annual documentation that invites Wikimedians to contribute content about African cinema, theatre and arts to Wikimedia projects. This year WikiActivate we want to document African movies and theatres that were produced in 2024 and beyond. Articles to be created include: African films, film industries, filmmakers, actors, stage performers, and so on. The term "African" in the context of this contest, include people of African descent from all over the world.

7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found. Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

Recruiting Volunteers: The registration will be through a google form. After which they participants will be added to the WikiActivate Africa Whatsapp group. We will also run posts on social media platforms, engage influencers who are into Movies and entertainment. We will also print flyers which will announce the call for volunteers and participant for the project. Training Sessions: There will be series of training sessions where participant will be trained on Wikidata and Wikipedia and how to contribute on this projects. We will also invite a guest movie producer who will enlighten us on what it takes to make movie in Africa. Learn more about Films and its impacts in Nigeria, and organize contest edit-a-thon for the participants during the campaign. Panel Discussions: Invite filmmakers, critics, and academics to share insights on the impact of African cinema. Content Improvement and Creation: A virtual and physical editing session focused on creating and improving articles about African cinema. Our focus include variety of interests, such as Contemporary cinema articles, Cinema history articles, biographies of relevant personalities, film articles, film archives, archives of relevant publications about African films and filmmaking, images of relevant subjects and personalities. This will be done across Wikidata and Wikipadia. Translate-a-thon: Translate selected articles into local African languages to promote accessibility and inclusivity. This aspect will be judged by various language notable Wikipadians in the respectively translated languages Feedback Collection: After the event, we will set out a form to collect feedback from participants on the impact of this project and what we can improve on the next one

Chukwuma Dike User: chukydyk Project Lead: Responsible for the overall project implementation, evaluation and reporting. He has experience in organizing events and Wikimedia programs. As the current project lead of WikiActivate, he will coordinate and conduct the training on English Wikipedia and Wikidata. He will also lead and support the new participants in their first edit in English Wikipedia and Wikidata

Ubah Chisom Mercy User: Mercyjamb123 Program Assistant – Oversees ongoing projects. She is a good tutor with experience on Wikidata, Wikipadia and other Wikimedia Projects. She is currently the editor of the year, an award given to her by merit at the just concluded Wikimedia Nigeria Conference in Abuja. She will be responsible for the execution of the training and the group’s communication and strategies.

Olubusola Afolabi Username: Ifedohlapo Training Assistant- She is a dedicated Wikipedian with experience in Wikidata, Wikipedia, Wiki Commons and others. She will help in the development of programs and evaluate contests. She is an enthusiastic Wikimedian contributor with a fervent passion for learning.

We have discussed with all the proposed facilitators and team members and they have all agreed to volunteer to conduct the training. We will also inform some communities in the African Wikipadian Digest mail list. We are also going announce it in the WikiActivate Telegram and Whatsapp group
