As co-chair of the CCCC Wikipedia Initiative, the main challenge I am trying to solve is to train academics in my discipline of composition, rhetoric, and communication studies to edit, understand and improve Wikipedia articles related to those fields. The main approaches our initiative uses to solve this challenge include: Zoom workshops / webinars, maintenance and improvement of Wikiproject Writing, workshops and edit-a-thons at major conferneces.

7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found. Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

Planned activities include 1) an edit-a-thon workshop (entitled "Playing Our Songs: CCCC Edits Wikipedia"), 2) informational table for the initative, CCCC Wikipedia Initiative, which will provide a presence for our project throughout the conference 3) scholarly panel on Wikipedia-based education entitled "Remixing the Knowledge Playlist: Wikipedia-Based Education in an AI World"

All three activities will take place at the academic conference, the Conference on College Composition & Communication to be held in Baltimore April 9-12.

During the edit-a-thon, we will use the program and events dashboard to track editor activities, as part of our larger 2025 campaign (https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/campaigns/cccc_wikipedia_initiative/programs).

We will also encourage all of those who attend the workshop, the panel, or stop by the table to sign up for our wikiproject and mailing list group.
