Le changement principal est d’accroître la présence, la qualité et la diversité des informations sur les quartiers de la République du Congo sur Wikipédia. Cela implique la création, l’amélioration et la mise à jour d’articles qui manquent des sources détaillées sur les quartiers de la République du Congo. Le but est de valoriser le patrimoine local, de renforcer la visibilité des réalités urbaines congolaises et de donner la chance aux bénévoles de la communauté souvent confronté au manque d'édit-a-thon et compétition. Ce programme préparatif à un plus grand projet de résidence s’articule autour de 4 axes de travail : 1- Identification = cartographier l’existant, rencontrer les acteurs, planifier, organiser le travail à faire 2- Valorisation = collecter et lister ce qui peut être importé dans Wikimédia (Wikidata, Commons, Wikipédia) 3- Communication = faire des séances d’informations sur l’évolution du travail/projet 4- Transmission = transmettre les contenus et méthodes de travail au ministère concerné et faire le suivi de ce travail avec les participants.

Dans le cadre de ce projet d’édit-a-thon sur les quartiers de la République du Congo sur Wikipédia, nous apprenons comment la documentation collective et participative peut enrichir la connaissance et la visibilité des quartiers congolais, en répondant à des questions clés telles que : quels sont les principaux défis urbains et sociaux vécus par ces quartiers ? Comment les habitants perçoivent-ils leur environnement et leur identité locale sur les projets wikimedia? Par ailleurs, nous allons apprendre comment créer des article avec les bénévoles de la République du Congo notamment avec User group en place. Ce travail pourrait permettre de mesurer l’impact d’une meilleure représentation de nos quartiers sur la fierté locale et la reconnaissance nationale et internationale sur Wikipédia la plus grande encyclopédie au monde.
