  • Preserve and promote Yoruba cultural heritage, which is at risk of being lost due to urbanization, modernization, and cultural erosion.

Approaches:

To achieve this change, the project will employ the following main approaches:

  • Research and documentation: Conduct field research, interviews, and analyze existing literature and historical records to gather comprehensive information about Yoruba compounds.
  • Digital archiving: Create a digital archive of Yoruba compounds, including photographs, videos, and oral histories, to preserve and showcase their cultural significance.
  • Community engagement: Engage with Yoruba elders, community leaders, and compound residents to ensure their participation and ownership in the project.
  • Cultural exchange: Promote cross-cultural understanding and appreciation of Yoruba cultural heritage through online platforms, exhibitions, and events.
