This campaign seeks to build upon the success of our participation in the 2024 SheSaid [1] Campaign to deepen impact in 2025 by increasing both the quantity and quality of quotes by and about women in the Fante language. Our aim is to make notable and often-overlooked women more visible and accessible to Fante-speaking audiences by improving content on the Fante Wikiquote Incubator . A key long-term goal is to support the growth of the Fante Wikiquote Incubator towards becoming a fully recognized Wiki project. This will also be an opportunity to involve more female editors, especially in the Fante community, in contributing to Wikimedia projects. Also, as a new and growing community, this will be an opportunity to engage exsising editors interested in Wikiquote and also enageg new ones to a new Wikimedia project. Even though many community members may not have edited Wikiquote in the past, this campaign will present a chance for members to develop their skills on wikiquote. You can find more about our previous work here: https://diff.wikimedia.org/2025/02/12/fante-wikimedians-participate-in-shesaid-2024/ https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/courses/Fante_Wikimedians_Community/Fante_Wikiquote_SheSaid_Contest,_2024 https://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wq/fat/SheSaid_2024_Contest

7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found. Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

We aim to actively participate in the WLW SheSaid 2025 campaign by organizing a series of targeted activities designed to strengthen content on the Fante Wikiquote Incubator and increase the visibility of women, especially those relevant to the Fante-speaking community. To begin, we will host an introductory training session in November 2025 to familiarize participants with the SheSaid campaign and how to contribute effectively to Wikiquote. This session will provide both new and returning editors with the foundational knowledge needed to participate meaningfully.

Between November and December 2025, we will organize two in-person edit-a-thons—one in Ajumako, and one in Winneba. These events will focus on creating, translating, and improving Wikiquote entries about notable women, both globally and locally, in the Fante language. To sustain engagement and motivate participants, we will launch a local contest that encourages continuous contributions throughout the campaign. Outstanding contributors will be recognized, which we believe will foster retention and pride in the work.

Additionally, we will hold two online follow-up sessions to support participants after the in-person events, address questions, and strengthen community engagement. As part of our content strategy, we will develop a red list of women to be featured—this list will include both prominent international figures and influential but lesser-known Fante-speaking women whose voices deserve to be documented. At the end of the campaign, we will compile and share a shortlist of some of the best entries created during the contest for outreach and promotional purposes.

(required) Include more details of the team, including their roles, usernames, Wikimedia group, and whether they are salaried, volunteers, consultants/contractors, etc. Team members involved in the grant application need to be aware of their involvement in the project.
