The amount of internet consumers in Nigeria is growing each and every day, 8 out of every 10 Nigerians used the Internet and yet the number of people's editing Wikipedia is very low and Wikipedia public awareness especially in the Northern Nigeria is to its extreme low. This project will see to it that it bridge that gap by conducting a Vox pop in the most Populous Northern states in Nigeria. Kano and Kaduna. Asking everyday Nigerians in the North what they know about Wikipedia and how they used it. We decided to pick Kano and Kaduna as they are the most Populous northern states, and they represents the entire Arewa as Kano is the most Commercial state in the North where you will find everyone and Kaduna was once the Capital of the North. This project will be first of its kind in the Hausa Community as a form of new idea to make Wikipedia awareness in our community. The choice of these states is strategic as it will save cost and effectively reach every angle of Hausa community since the content will be shared online via social media . We are to record and film these conversations share it online in other to spark:

1. Initiates Public conversation in online spaces and discussion about Wikipedia.

2. Create social media content to boost local awareness.

3. Invite and organised interest people to the street to join Wikipedia training and workshops. Engaged them into participation.

The main approaches will be:

1. Vox pop Content: Vox pop interviews to the people across these two states due to their population. Asking them what they know about Wikipedia and how they use Wikipedia.

2. Social media and Content creation: producing a short engaging videos from these interviews to share widely online and via social media.

3. Using Content Creators: Using social media content creators to makes the videos interesting, precise and catchy that will go viral across Hausa community, Nigeria and the Internet community at large.

4. Instant Call to action: Registering Interest Interviewees instantly during the Vox pop and invitation to free Wikipedia workshops in these various states.

5. Mentorship content: Organising a free mentorship content to share online and used during the free workshops. (A precise video guide on how to register and how to edit).

This project will like to share experiences and make contact with the Wiki Naija Vox pop.

1. Developing a set of interview questions for instance ( what do you know about Wikipedia, how do you use it)? Etc.

Prepared Material to make the project Interesting. Banners, Fliers, T-shirt and Loudspeaker during the campaign.

2. Vox Pop Filming: Streets Interviews to everyday Northerner in Nigeria across these 2 states. Capturing real life views, Experiences and making awareness in the form of Interview to at least 100 people from various places, classes and age in the community.

3. Content Creation: Producing and editing a short, engaging vox pop videos from each state. 3 - 4 minutes each. With subtitles to make them precise, engaging, strike action and simply understanding. The videos will be in Hausa with English subtitles.

4. Public Awareness Campaign: sharing the video online via social media (Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram). Making the campaign clear, and precise to draws people attention and action. Attaching link to register to Wikipedia via those videos campaigns and attaching full details for the In person free Wikipedia workshop for each state.

5.In Person Wikipedia training workshop: Organising a free workshop in-person campaign at the various states to train the Interested 50 - 60 participants during the street interview Vox Pop.

6. Engaging Content Creators: This campaign will engage and bring content creators to Wikipedia. This will boost the campaign by using their platform, also to share the awareness content online.

Uncle Bash007: An administrator in Hausa Wikipedia and a Videographer with UncleBash studio. Aliyu Yusuf: an experience Wikipedian, translator and a trainer. Umar Aliyu: An experience Wikipedian and social media assistant.

The participants were engaged on wiki and via WhatsApp, and the newly Participants will be added and followed up via WhatsApp.

As a growing young content creator and Wikipedia enthusiasts. When I see this opportunity I jumb to it immediately. Because I believe this will bring an immense benefits to our community and makes Wikipedia awareness a talk in our online spaces for a very very longtime as this is something that has never been done before in the community. I immediately share with the community via WhatsApp and we held several discussions to come this conclusion. We also inform the leadership of the Hausa Wikimedians User group. We are also working with the Team of The Shesaid Campaign Hausa community.
