Language is an abstract system of words meanings and symbols for all aspects of culture, language as a means of communicating values, beliefs and customs. It is the means by which culture and its traditions and shared values may be conveyed and preserved (Shaefer 2006). Language is in fact, the foundation of every culture. As Hausa Wiktionary serves as a means of mass media literacy,we plan to engage Hausa Wiktionary Wikimedians from October 2025 to May 2026, on a variety of vital activities that build on past successes;https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project/Rapid/Files_Linking_in_Wikitionary/Report https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Programs/Wikimedia_Community_Fund/Rapid_Fund/Referencing_and_Categorization_of_words_in_Hausa_Wiktionary_for_Standardisation._(ID:_21917421)/Final_Report https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Programs/Wikimedia_Community_Fund/Rapid_Fund/Hausa_Wiktionary_Wikipedians_2024_First_Half_Proposal_of_Activities_(ID:_22363614)/Final_Report while introducing more sustainable initiatives and approaches to community engagement and content creation. Our short term basic activities project have equip editors with basic editing skills in Hausa Wiktionary, we aim to build the potentials of editors to harness and harmonize their skills capacity towards more complex and dynamic ways of navigating and contributing to Wiktionary. challenge is editor retention and skill development, though we have succeeded in recruiting a number of first-time contributors, their retention for participation remains challenging due to limited internet access, lack of long-term mentorship events, and competing personal and academic commitments.

Addressing Content Stagnation, Contribution to Wiktionary is still limited we strive to solve problem of stagnation in content creation,Hausa Wiktionary currently has couple of thousands of words entries, the fact remain there is no single, definitive number for the total number of words in the Hausa language because the count depends on the methodology used to define a word, with estimates varying widely based on factors like the inclusion of proper nouns, derived forms, and borrowed words. Linguists focus on features like Hausa's rich derivation morphology, which allows for the formation of new words from existing ones, as well as its extensive borrowed vocabulary, particularly from Arabic and since the colonial period, English (in Nigeria) and French (in Niger) have competed with Arabic as major sources of Hausa lexical innovation. Our local community base approaches are grounded on this aspects of change.

A. Community mobilization and engagement: Increase awareness and sensitization through communication channels for wider offline audience, on campus campaign and public awareness as a recruitment strategy for new contributors that unaware on how to contribute to global knowledge in their own language and ensuring their alignment with broader Wikimedia movement goals, and improving content accessibility and representation for Hausa speakers. Challenges is to maintain processes being establish and to further engage our teeming volunteer community empowering new and existing editors on skills development, include assigning topics for impact to work on, this initiatives is aim to keep participants appraise. We are positive this long time frame project can solve this issues to bolster our community motivation for a long time volunteerism during and after the project. Pairing new editors with more experienced contributors, providing peer learning support to align community members on initiatives and innovative ideas of contributing to Wiktionary, community enlightenment on ways to contribute despite their day to day commitments, for a sustainable editors retention of Hausa Wiktionary Volunteers, and boost our Outreach activities. We believe this will create a stable foundation with community structures, platform of community ownership, sustainable partnership and collaboration in with Hausa Language Department, Faculty of arts Kaduna State University for their expertise in mentorship, access to academic resources, this journey has demonstrated the community resilience, Also to strengthen collaborations with other Wikimedia affiliates especially the Hausa Wikimedia User Group for resource sharing, and to allow us maximize impact and avoid duplicated efforts and ensuring alignment with overall movement goals. The aim is to have a structured, coordinated and organize contributors of Wiktionary with inclusive, diverse perspective in content creation, curation for preserving Hausa literacy digital, and as as tool of educational resource for researchers, students and learners to the global community.

B. Leveraging and improvising on available resources and Wikimedia tools: Guidelines pages created https://ha.wiktionary.org/wiki/Rukuni:Shafukan_tsare-tsare will help new and existing editors to serve as guidance to understand and create words that are worth encyclopedic, and to further align with guided rules and policy of Wiktionary General Contribution policy set across all Wikimedia Projects for Wiktionary. Assigning editors with topics to work on, making availability of resources such as brochure and creating new words from (Ƙamus) Hausa dictionaries.https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1cTQoo3IfU4lES_mfF3SvgBs2xuKCDgb6 #, and expertise from Hausa linguist experts and series of trainings. Also leveraging on educational content under a free license or in the public domain to make Hausa Wiktionary worth encyclopedic, quantity, quality and reliability.

C. Anagrams and Synonms: To train editors on how to recreate words using anagrams system in searching and creating new words. An anagram as a word created by rearranging the letters from another word. For example, from the Hausa word (Bagaruwa) from it we will extract words like (Ruwa, Rawa, Aga, Garu, Baga, Aruwa), availability of this section will help in content creation and development. adapting anagrams will help editors extract new words from existing ones easily and with fun and will improve vocabulary and user experience. we hope to train editors on how to leverage on the use of anagrams to make easier to find missing words in Wiktionary. A section of Anagrams will be created in words. Synonyms section will be added to make words more understanding.

D. Cleanup and community Initiative: editors skills development in terms of categorization of words. Example: https://ha.wiktionary.org/wiki/Rukuni:Nahawu https://ha.wiktionary.org/wiki/Rukuni:Suna creating of Etymology for borrowed words, unity of homograph words, Creation of hyphenation words that are lacking, Synonyms in words formation, Hausa is known to be rich in proverbs as a heritage this will be provided to applicable words, linking files (audio, images) to applicable words among range of community initiatives. Completing of Hausa Wiktionary words created by inexperience editors in Hausa Wiktionary there are many words that are created partially and their explanation is not properly elaborated, some were created in plurals, some words were created in English some in Arabic language, some were created in small letters, some words are hooked letters but written with plain letters and without hooked letters the word is entirely another different meaning. some are without references, link and sections. This project is aim to massively solve this errors in Hausa Wiktionary to have conceptual words in their standard format and meaning and vocabulary, hence harmonization of editors skills and capacity building is a nexus to achieving words content that is rich in quantity and quality in Wiktionary.
