1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

We aim to create awareness and better understanding of Movement Charter to Rwanda wikimedia community members by organizing community meet ups and engage more the community on the leaderships skills as it was highligheted as one of the main challenges to grow the community in the Africa great lakes movement strategy 2030 we published https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikimedia_Africa_Great_Lakes_Strategy_2030.pdf As under repersented communities need to increase their capacities and be involved in the movement strategy especially getting all necessary information on movement charter including translating all materials related in Kinyarwanda language.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

The main approach will be community meet ups organised twice a month which will attract the community members and we will invite inspirational speakers to interact with members as well as peers learning initiatives to motivate the members to participate in different initiatives of the movement including leadership posts . We will also go through all the materials related to movement charter in order to organise not only the translations but also engage the members on these crucial topics for the movement strategy.

Meet ups will be organised twice a month , for a period of 3 months . Based on the available documentation , programms will be prepared to give a context based platforms for community to explore how the involvment in the movement charter can be finetuned

We have a team of volunteers in our community and we will invite experts in their field of expertise to engage our members on specific leadership skills.

By engaging the communities ang contributing to their capacity building we will adress the content gap due to inexperience and lack of information and we will much more make sure no one is left behind , especially women as it has been identified as one of the gaps we are facing as a community .

as conversations and meets ups will involve people from different backgrund , we will always announce and use the friendly space policy and the universal code of conduct of wikimedia movement as reference .

We engaged the community when developping the Africa Great lakes movement strategy and we also had opportunity in the wiki indaba we organised as a host community, we will continue to engage our members through social media and other platforms .
