This project is important because it will bring more visual information about a fascinating part of the world and a critical global issue – climate change – directly to everyone who uses Wikimedia projects. Imagine students, researchers, and anyone curious being able to see and learn more about Jordan's natural beauty and the impact of climate change through high-quality, freely available photos. This helps people understand these topics better and care more about them. Our main approach is to enrich Wikimedia with visual content. We'll do this by: Two Photowalks in Jordan to cover its stunning environment and enrich Wikimedia projects with this misrepresented content. Photographing a key natural reserve in Jordan: This gets us the actual photos we need. Uploading these photos to Wikimedia Commons: This makes them freely available for all Wikimedia projects. Another key approach is growing our local Wikimedia community. We'll do this by: Adding new organizer: This brings in fresh energy and helps us do more. Providing them with experience: This builds a strong and lasting team. Finally, we will improve existing knowledge on Wikipedia. Our approach here is to: Organize and edit-a-thon: This focuses our efforts on specific topics. Target articles in Arabic, English, and French: This makes the information accessible to more people.

Cestsalam: main physical and online organizer I am currently a contributor, actively involved in content development, editing, and community engagement on Wikimedia platforms. I collaborate with various members of the Wikimedia community on a regular basis. These collaborations focus on improving the quality and accessibility of Arabic content, ensuring accuracy, neutrality, and verifiability across articles.
My work often involves translating and editing articles, particularly related to the Arab world. My first time being an organizer was in the “Eyes on Gaza” project. We have uploaded over 1800 photos to Wikicommons which is a great start for a beginner like me.
I believe that with the upcoming projects we will be able to contribute more to the Arab community and help spread knowledgeable information.

- 9. Who are the target participants and from which community? How will you engage participants before and during the activities? How will you follow up with participants after the activities? (required)
For the photowalks, we are mainly targeting photographers and interested in the environmental domain; Before: We'll announce the project through social media channels, and the Village pump or Arabic Wikipedia, explain why it's important, share resources, and create a channel for people to connect. After: Keeping the channel to communicate, engage participants to be part of the community; share surveys and send thankful messages. For the Edit-a-thon (Marathon) We're aiming for the Levant Wikimedia community and anyone keen on improving articles about the Levant's environment in English, Arabic, or French. Before: We'll announce the project through social media channels, and the Village pump or Arabic Wikipedia, explain why it's important, share resources, have an office hour, and create ways for people to connect. During: We'll provide clear guidance, offer real-time support, foster teamwork, and recognize contributions. After: We'll thank participants, share results, encourage ongoing involvement, ask for feedback, and keep them informed about future opportunities."
