Wikidata Taiwan community continues to grow and is healthier than ever, however, we are reaching a bottleneck both strategically and tactically, which pose a great threat to our long-term development plans; Therefore, this project aims to remedy such issue. Straight to the topic, in short, the challenge we face has 2 facets: First and foremost is the fact that there is only a limited supply of documentation and resources available in Chinese. This issue greatly hinders our work in expanding and fostering a sustainable community since language is quite a barrier to cross, especially around more technical topics. Without easy access to important documentation proved to be a reoccurring issue that keeping us from reaching greater productivity and effectiveness.

Second, as the Taiwan wiki community was working closely with local communities in the past few years, establishing a strong connection with the small language communities in Taiwan, we ultimately face the question of what we can do with the resources reside in the communities. Without a clear vision on how to contribute to the movement, many feel lost and purposeless and ultimately find no reason to stay. Without a doubt, this is a big obstacle on our journey to support a diverse and sustainable growth for the underrepresented communities in Taiwan.

Therefore, in this project, our goal is to tackle the 2 challenges mentioned above by: 1. Identify potential documentation such as white papers, scholarly writing, reports, etc. which could be useful for expanding our work knowledge and translating them into Chinese and later other local languages. By doing so we aims to increase our work knowledge reservoir and, 2. Establish cornerstones for future development in the small language communities.

With these two goals in mind, we hope to, through this project, strengthen the health and sustainability of the Taiwan community as a whole, allowing us to keep expanding both in size and depth; by hosting cooperation to bring more knowledge into the communities, we wish to establish a closer tie with the local language communities, forming a mutually benefiting relationship to serve as the start of greater opportunities in the future.

7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found. Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

In this project, we plan to: 1. Translate 1 (or more) documentation from English to Chinese and later into other local languages (for other languages, we seek to first abstract the documentation then move forward from there if resources are available); to expand communities' knowledge reservoir and assist future works. 2. Hold at least 3 (or more) talks/meetings (currently planned to participate in COSCUP, Wikidata birthday, and additional talks at local language communities); to share our results and bring more awareness from both inside and outside the communities.

8. Describe your team. Please provide their roles, Wikimedia Usernames and other details. The project's main goal is to benefit both current and future participants in the Taiwan community. Our aim is to strengthen the community's health and sustainability, and improve the infrastructure for future progression.

Currently, we are in contact with multiple local language communities and wish to, through this project, bridge up more people from these underrepresented communities. We hope that by translating strategic documentation, we can not only help build up a functional infrastructure but also create a tangible experience of contribution and foster a stronger sense of community, ultimately strengthening the connections between peoples.
