The change we're trying to bring is to empower the Margi Wikipedia community by creating and improving vital articles. This will drive growth, engagement, and access to reliable information in the Margi language.
However, we face several challenges. Margi Wikipedia lacks vital articles, making it difficult for readers and editors to find relevant information. Additionally, many Margi Wikimedians are unaware of the importance of vital articles and lack the skills to create and improve them. There is also a scarcity of articles about Margi culture, geography, history, and notable figures.
To overcome these challenges, we will conduct workshops and training sessions to educate Margi Wikimedians on creating and improving vital articles. This training and capacity building initiative will equip community members with the necessary skills. Furthermore, we will translate and adapt vital articles from English Wikipedia into Margi, and encourage community members to contribute their knowledge and expertise.

We are plan to create more awareness around vital articles, engage/recruit editors and create/improve such articles via the following approaches i. Online awareness: we will use social media to create awareness around vital articles via online flyers. we will also create an online meet ups and trainings. ii. Offline: we will create face to face training and awareness for the target participants.

Female Rep- Jidda3711: Her work will includes ensuring a smooth inclusivity plan for the new editors of Margi wikipedia. This will foster an appropriate oppoturnities for the females in taking leadership oppoturnities as the community of the Margi language progress, hence problems of non-inclusivity will be saved from the scratch. 4.Facilitator- MohammedBama123 : He is an experienced editor and facilitator of various Wikipedia events.

As usual, the target participants will be youths based in Borno state of Nigeria, who are native speakers of Margi language and whom most are students. Participants will be recruited through offline/physical recruitment processes to actualize our project. Participants who will be engaged for the translate-a-thon will be given a form in order to collect their data for registration. On the day of the project, we are going to teach the participants how to Translates and adapt vital articles from English Wikipedia into Margi and encourage community members to contribute their knowledge and expertise. When the event is over, the new participants will join our Margi Wikimedians group, get added to our WhatsApp group and follow our social media pages. All the participants will be receiving updates from us and follow-up will also be conducted through one-on-one engagement, listening to the participants challenges, guiding and answering their questions as the case may be.
