6.1 In a few sentences, explain how your work is specifically addressing this content gap (or Knowledge inequity) to ensure a greater representation of knowledge.

The project is going to be coordinated between two different languages who are geographically spread across Ghana, Togo, Code I’voire and Burkina Faso. These communities have diverse but interrelated cultural practices and ethnicities. With the goal to capture the cultural representation of these two groups, we are not only to unearth the similarities between these cultures but would put them on the internet under open license for researchers and viewers to freely access.

7. Please state if your proposal includes any of these areas or THEMATIC focus. Select up to THREE that most apply to your work and explain the rationale for identifying these themes.

Culture, heritage or GLAM , Advocacy, Diversity

8. Will your work focus on involving participants from any underrepresented communities?

Gender Identity, Geographic , Ethnic/racial/religious or cultural background, Linguistic / Language, Age, Digital Access

9. Who are the target participants and from which community? How will you engage participants before and during the activities? How will you follow up with participants after the activities?

The target communities are members from the Moore and Gurene Wikimedia Commuity. We will engage them on their various talk pages and social media platforms especially Whatsapp where majority of the members are. We will send a notification via the Dagbani Wikimedians mailing list.

These communities are presumably very new to Wikimedia projects and less than 10% of the speakers have heard of Wikipedia as a tool to promote, digitize and revitalize languages via its sister projects.

We will keep our participants more engaged in the varieties of the things we will be doing so that we will have a bunch of choices to make. We will be doing Wikipedia, Wikidata, Wikimedia commons and using tools like the ISA campaign to vary the interest.

10. In what ways are you actively seeking to contribute towards creating a safer, supportive, more equitable environment for participants?

We will educate participants on the WMF safety protocols and adapt it for the event and also couple it with some local rules that will guide behaviour and conduct of the event.

11. Please tell us about how you have let your Wikimedia communities know about the planned activities and this proposal. Use this space to describe the processes you carried out to make the community more involved in planning this proposal. Please link the on-wiki community discussion(s) around the proposals.
