Q. Indicate if it is a local, international, or regional proposal and if it involves several countries? (optional)

Local

Q2. If you have answered regional or international, please write the country names and any other information that is useful for understanding your proposal.

R. If you would like, please share any websites or social media accounts that your group or organization has.

1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

Ghana has been organising Wiki Loves Monuments for a couple of years now and so far the experience has been great!. This year we realised there are still more monuments left to be added and with new ones we have discovered which are not Commons. We also going to improve on the old photos by recapturing them professionally to meet the standards of the international competition.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

1. We shall be hunting for photos to enrich the contents concerning Ghana on Commons.

2 A call for professional photographers will be made to come and help in the photowalk. With this call, new recruits of volunteers will be made to join the movement.

3. We shall use social media platforms dedicated to WLM in Ghana to promote the international competition and our photowalks
3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

1, We will use a tool developed by the Products and Resources Manager of User Group Wiki Movimento Brasil to help map the monuments in Ghana.

2. The old list of monuments will be updated with new ones.
3. 10 selected photos will be pushed to compete on the international stage.

4 .These selected photos will be posted on our various social media platforms for promotional purpose.

5. New Articles will be created and old ones improved with the photos.
4. Are your activities part of a Wikimedia movement campaign or event? If so, please select the relevant campaign below. If so, please select all the relevant campaigns from the list below. If "other", please state which.

Wiki Loves Monuments

5. Do you have the team that is needed to implement this proposal?

1. Alikotoselorm - Assitant photographer - will help in the capture of the monuments.

2. The rest of the team will be an open call
6. Please state if your proposal aims to work to bridge any of the identified CONTENT knowledge gaps (Knowledge Inequity)? Select up to THREE that most apply to your work.

Geography, Cultural background, ethnicity, religion, racial

6.1 In a few sentences, explain how your work is specifically addressing this content gap (or Knowledge inequity) to ensure a greater representation of knowledge.

7. Please state if your proposal includes any of these areas or THEMATIC focus. Select up to THREE that most apply to your work and explain the rationale for identifying these themes.

Education, Culture, heritage or GLAM

8. Will your work focus on involving participants from any underrepresented communities?

Not applicable

9. Who are the target participants and from which community? How will you engage participants before and during the activities? How will you follow up with participants after the activities?

Our Target participants will be professional photographers and amateurs who are passionate about free knowledge and will be willing to travel with us to the various monuments.

Definately the call up will attract new volunteers who have not idea about WLM and the foundation and so an edit-a-thon or zoom will be used to engage them

Social media will only be the sure way to do follow ups on participants or a phone call.

10. In what ways are you actively seeking to contribute towards creating a safer, supportive, more equitable environment for participants?

We shall be each others keeper during our tours and keep in mind to adhere to any safety protocols.

Use this space to describe the processes you carried out to make the community more involved in planning this proposal. Please link the on-wiki community discussion(s) around the proposals.

All the communities in Ghana will be alerted through the various whatsapp groups and mail list. In one of their meetings I made the OFWA community aware of us organizing this project.
