Rapid Fund Final Report

Application type: Standard application

Part 1: Project and impact

1. Describe the implemented activities and results achieved. Additionally, share which approaches were most effective in supporting you to achieve the results. (required)

The implementation activities as stated in the project were 1. Photo walk: initialy we plan to carry Three photo walks across 3 states. Zaria, Borno, Bauchi. But we were able to do it in 2 states that's Kaduna-Zaria and Borno this is due to the budget cut we encounter during funding the program, and the major effected areas in Bauchi are already been reconstructed due to time the project takes before scaling to funding. And we chose the two above States because of the effects of the Flood in the two states. 2. Photo A Thon: we carried out the photo a Thon that leads to the upload of 758. Instead of the 2000 we plan. This is due to first the budget that been cut during funding we were not able to visit Bauchi State and also the delay the project encounter. Because we'd been proposing this project since circle one this calendar but the project scale funding during circle 3 this is almost 6 months interval. Most of the places the flood affects where either been reconstructed, repair of in the Case of Borno Major Places are been reconstructed and repair and some with security challenges are under military surveillance, so no civilian is allowed to even go near the places. 3. Workshop: we plan to translate 50 articles related to WASH and polish 100. We were able to create 122 articles and polish 182 it's one of the project greatest achievement as we super supersede the initial target. 4. Online Campaign: We were able to make campaign at online calls, via Google Meet with Expert from KADRUWASA. While during the campaign some participants and organisers advice to have a physical campaign across communities looking at the sensitive nature of the topic especially how it affects women and girls in our society. Making a lot of participants throwing their experience on WASH at the campaign. And we couldn't do that due to limited resources.

Part 2: Learning

4. In your application, you outlined some learning questions. What did you learn from these learning questions when you implemented your project? How do you hope to use this learnings in the future? You can recall these learning questions below. (required)

You can recall these learning questions below: 1. How well this project will educate our community on Water sanitation and hygiene.

2. How best we can utilize collaboration with Government agencies.

3. The inclusion of women in the discussion of water sanitation and hygiene as it's affect them the most.

1. The project has a played a significant lasting impact on our community more especially to women and children. Especially sessions by the KADDRUWASA emphasis the needs for community to put all hands on desk on taking care of our environment and WASH 2. Collaboration with government agencies plays a vital role in this project as well as it's an eye opening due to their tremendous experience and resources from the government side interms of Man power.

3. Women and children are centered of this project as we give them voice to hear their part being most effected in this regards.

5. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences? (required)

Many Unexpected occurrences happened. First, during the work we come to faced that, many of the flood sites more especially in Borno are being supervised by Military due to security issues in the state. So nobody has access to those sites again. Including the Alau Dam among other.

We couldn't make it to Bauchi state due to the fact that our budget has been cut during funding and also most of the affected areas are being repair by the community and other by government.

In Kaduna-Zaria most of the effects Areas are residential areas so they have been refixed by communities even though we managed to get a very few. This is the reason why we couldn't make the number of photos we intent to upload initial. And also the time the project been also funded plays a role in this. We propose this project since the first Circle of this calendar year rapid fund but unfortunately for us the project scale to funding in Circle 3. Giving almost 6 month gap. This leads to the fixing of almost all the sites before we do the Walk.

6. What is your plan to share your project learnings and results with other community members? If you have already done it, describe how. (required)

The project learnings have been shared among community members via WhatsApp as it's the most easiest and effective means of passing information in our community. And we are also planning to share it on Wiki with other community members.
