It is known fact that volunteer retention over time is quite challenging especially women due to several factors including cultural, social and economic factors while some were due to lack of follow-up for continuous engagement or support. We organized the first edition of the Fulfulde Wiki Women Marathon last year in 2024 which focused on advocating Wikimedia projects to Fula women and that led us to laying a strong foundation in introducing and familiarizing Fulfulde speaking women to Wikimedia projects including the Fulfulde Wikipedia and its sister projects, helped us in creating awareness and building their confidence to participate where they diligently translate biographies of women from English Wikipedia to Fulfulde Wikipedia thereby helping them in bridging both content and gender-gap in terms of contributors and contributions. Part of the last years goals or aim is to make this effort a recurrent event that can be repeated annually as an adopted Fulfulde Wikimedia Community local campaign that would be care of by women in the community so as to emphasize the efforts of keeping the gender balance and encourage the women volunteers to display their talents, share their experiences and skills and become sources of inspirations for more women to carry on their foot steps. Pulaaku or a cultural shyness is a well known trait exhibited by Fula people especially women, and only by approach of women centered project that we can fight this inherit habit and make productive use of Fula women in building a free and inclusive community where women voices could be heard. There are many experienced women Fula editors who can come up with meaningful ideas to organized events that will be help in sustainable development of our community but they are afraid or shy to show their interests that is part of the problem we hope to achieve solving through this project. And this time, we want to deepen and expand our impact by recruiting new and improving the skills of our previous active contributors in the first marathon through introducing them to: 1. Fulfulde Wikipedia lacking images especially women’s biographies to improve them by adding images from Wikimedia Commons 2. How to link the Fulfulde Wikipedia articles about women to Wikidata and create or improve the existing Wikidata items related to women. 3. Encourages contributions to de-stub articles by expanding short articles from the previous event with more content and references. 4. How to make use of Content Translation tools using the newly added features and also introduce them to the section translation tool to help them in expanding the existing articles.

This follow-up training will help in many ways including; increasing the skills of the participating editors, rejuvenating the editors and creating sustainability in the Fulfulde community.

Leaderships: with the help and approval of the Wikimedia Fulfulde Community leadership board, we will use this second event to nominate among the top most contributing participants the Fulfulde Wiki Women Ambassadors, this will go beyond motivating the participants but also help push more women in doing their best to acquire such title.
